Our Mission
& Values
Imolites Yorkshire CIC is dedicated to uniting Imo citizens living in Yorkshire and strengthening community bonds while celebrating and promoting our rich cultural heritage.
Who We Are
Imolites Yorkshire CIC is a non-governmental, non-profit, and non-political organisation established by people of Imo State, located in South-Eastern Nigeria, who now reside in Yorkshire, United Kingdom. The organisation was created to provide a platform for interaction, cooperation, mutual understanding, cultural preservation, peace, and unity among Imo indigenes in the diaspora.
Our Values
Our community is built on cooperation, respect, and preservation of Imo heritage. We focus on community support, education, cultural celebration, and maintaining our rich traditions while building bridges in Yorkshire.
What We Do
Imolites Yorkshire CIC operates as a Community Interest Company (CIC), dedicated to serving the interests of its members and the wider community. We are a socio-cultural, non-religious, non-profit, and non-political organisation committed to fostering integration and community cohesion.
Our activities include:
- Disseminating information relevant to the communities in which we live.
- Educating our members and their children on local laws, rules, and societal expectations to promote lawful and responsible living
- Supporting members’ welfare through regular engagement, including monthly meetings.
- Promoting cultural competence, diversity, and inclusion by helping the wider society understand our culture and values.
History
Imolites Yorkshire CIC was founded through the vision and commitment of Pastor Jude Ezika, Chief Zebedee Ohaeri, and Chief Canice Anozie. Established in June 2019, the organisation is guided by its motto: “Be Your Brother’s Keeper.” Membership is open to individuals who are directly or indirectly of Imo State origin. The name “Imolites” reflects our shared heritage from Imo State, which comprises 27 local government areas and is predominantly Christian.
